Barack Obama begins African tour

World Business Report

Available for over a year

Barack Obama has arrived in Senegal, starting his first extended visit to Africa since taking office. He spoke of Africa's "enormous potential" at a news conference in the Senegalese capital, Dakar, alongside the president Macky Sall. We hear why Mr Obama wants to cement relations with African nations and look at how those countries could benefit from stronger ties with the United States. Plus, EU finance ministers reach agreement on a plan to prevent taxpayers picking up the bill for bailing out failed banks; and we have a special report from Botswana on how the country is attempting to become less reliant on the diamond trade.
