Nigeria and North Korea

From Our Own Correspondent

Available for over a year

The Nigerian state and armed forces have recently claimed that the country's north-east is being taken back from Islamist rebels, village by village. Will Ross takes a whistle-stop tour through former Boko Haram territory and witnesses traces of the fighting - and unmistakeable signs of central government's long-term neglect of the region. North Korea, notoriously, is even more tightly closed to outsiders, but on a recent official tour, Juliet Rix did manage to elude the minders - even if only for a short time. And this unofficial "people-to-people" encounter led to the unusual experience of dancing with a local family in a Pyongyang park.
