Heroin user: Safe illegal drug-use rooms “a good idea”

5 Live Breakfast

Available for over a year

Caller ‘Dan’, who is a heroin user, tells Nicky Campbell why he thinks rooms where users could take illegal drugs without fear of arrest would be a positive action. Caller Gill phoned in to say why she is "incensed" by that view. Some experts say that the way to stop people dying from drug-use is to have so called shooting galleries, which are rooms where heroin and crack users can take their own drugs under medical supervision without being arrested. They want Brighton council to open these.
