A behind the scenes look at the modern day ‘Midsummer Night’s Dream’, takes the modern day troubles of substance abuse, temptation and peer pressure. Written by Darren Raymond, The Playground is an adaptation of the Shakespeare play using young people with no professional arts training for the stage. BBC Radio Berkshire’s Louise Chandler met some of the cast in rehearsal at Aswantea House in Reading. Reading Actor and Director Stephen Macaulay runs 2 Heavy Productions, talks of his adaptation of the script.
