Female Genital Mutilation: Bristol-based African women's group takes on challenges of its psychological effects

Paul Moss

Available for over a year

It's an accepted practice in parts of Africa and the Middle East, but the long term impact of genital mutilation affects African women here in the UK too – and is prompting debate among the Bristol-based African community. A group called WISE (Women In Serious Endeavours), is holding workshops in the city, to educate about the issues. In this discussion, BBC Gloucestershire reporter Kevin Philemon speaks to some of the facilitators.
