Chaos in Pakistan and Burns Night in Jamaica

Pakistan is a busy patch for a reporter – but unfortunately little of the news is good. Orla Guerin has been living in the country for years, and she has seen her share of chaos. Two recent events stand out though – protests against the government led by a charismatic Muslim cleric, and the bombing of a snooker hall in Quetta. Despite the unrest and violence, there are still Pakistanis who hold out hope for their country, but do they stand a chance against extremist elements who continue to use violence? Plus, a report on Burns Night – not in Scotland, where the poet Robert Burns is revered and celebrated every January, but in Jamaica, which has a surprising Scottish connection of its own. There are more people named Campbell per head of population in Jamaica than Scotland, reports our correspondent Nick Davis.
