World Have Your Say / #WHYS: What is like for women who fight on the front-line?

World Have Your Say

Available for over a year

We discuss the announcement by US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta to lift the military’s ban on women serving on the front line in war zones. This rule overturns a 1994 rule prohibiting women in the US from being assigned to small ground-combat units. So is this a decision that is well overdue? Or do you think the physical differences between the sexes make it too dangerous for women to fight in war zones?
