The Perfect American

The Strand

Available for over a year

Philip Glass's latest opera The Perfect American is based on the life and death of Walt Disney, but it’s not a pretty story. The minimalist composer explores the darker side of the man who created Mickey, Minnie and Goofey. The Perfect American, is being streamed live on February 6, 8.00 pm, on the Teatro Real website Palco Digital (see link below), available for Spain only and will broadcast on channels TVE (Spain), ARTE (France/Germany), WDR (Germany), France Television and NHK (Japan). Scarlett Johansson has taken on the role of Maggie The Cat in a Broadway revival of Tenessee Williams's play Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. Does she have what it takes to step into those big shoes? Chinese conceptual artist Song Dong is re-writing history from his personal perspective. The project called 36 Calendars opened in Hong Kong on Monday and is giving members of the public a chance to create their own picture of a memory and become part of the work.
