Several of Wall Street's large banks have reported their latest profit figures this week. For some, the numbers are sparkling; for others, less so. So, more than four years after the financial crisis, just how healthy are the big players that were at the centre of the storm in 2008? Lesley Curwen asks Charles Calomiris, the Henry Kaufman Professor of Financial Institutions at Columbia Business School, if the raft of new regulation is working or is politics just getting in the way?
