North Korea's leader has called for reunification of the Koreas. In the nation's first new year's message on state media for 19 years, Kim Jong-un said "An important issue in putting an end to the division of the country and achieving its reunification is to remove confrontation between the north and the south." He spoke of improving the economy and also stressed that military power remained a national priority.
