Episode details

Available for over a year
Today our highlights of the year include stories of hope, history and revitalisation from a continent never short of a good story. In Somalia, Andrew Harding found a glimmer of change on the streets of Mogadishu. Mary Harper visited a town in Ethiopia devoted to the narcotic drug qat. We also hear the story of the sacred crocodile keeper of the Ivory Coast, and Hamilton Wende brings us the story of Johannesburg – once written off, now rebuilding in the new South Africa. Presented by Pascale Harter.
