Africans in China

Business Daily

Available for over a year

As trade links flourish between Africa and China, we look at what life is like for Africans in China, and Chinese in Africa. How do the two cultures mesh together? Lesley Curwen talks to Lebogang Rasethaba, a young South African film producer who moves between Johannesburg and Beijing and has made films about Africans living in China. He says there is a lack of cultural understanding between the two. Plus she speaks to Yoon Jung Park, professor of sociology at Howard University in Washington DC and Heidi Ostbo Haugen from Oslo University's sociology and human geography department about the relationships between Africans and Chinese.
