Syria's chemical weapons / Dutch linesman murder

World Have Your Say

Available for over a year

Has something changed in the international community's attitude to Syria? Nato has warned the Syrian regime that it will intervene if Assad's forces use chemical weapons. It is another red line drawn by international leaders over intervention in the country's civil war. Nato is expected to deploy surface-to-air missiles to the Turkish border. Is this really a shift in policy, are Nato and the US any closer to intervening? Richard Nieuwenhuizen was killed by a group of teenage footballers during a match he was officiating as a linesman and, in which his son was playing. Was this just a case of football hooliganism getting out of control or does this say something bigger about society, violence and young people?
