Seedorf on Tackling Racism

World Football

Available for over a year

The four-times European Champions League winner, Clarence Seedorf, says it’s time to stop talking about racism and for governments and football federations to act. The captain of Manchester City and Belgium, Vincent Kompany, says the ‘Manchester City project’ is about far more than building a successful team. He says the club is trying to make a difference to Manchester itself. Kompany says there’s far more racism at grassroots football and whatever is decided at the top of the game will filter down. We’re in Buenos Aires for the Super Clasico between River Plate and Boca Juniors, and meet one particular, interested spectator, Eric Cantona. Freddy Adu, the child prodigy who signed a professional contract at the age of 14, talks about his struggle to live up to expectations in the eight years since. He tells us that he wants one more year in Major League Soccer before mounting a second bid for success in Europe (Image: Clarence Seedorf, Credit: Getty Images)
