ALCOHOL AND CANCER Claudia Hammond looks at the links between alcohol consumption and certain cancers, and talks to Dr Silvia Balbo, a researcher in United States, whose new findings help to explain why alcohol can increase your risk of cancer of the mouth, and possibly the oesophagus. TRAMADOL MISUSE There’s also a report from Gaza on the growing incidence of tramadol misuse among young men in the Palestinian territory. Tramadol is a prescription pain-killer and Adam Mackridge, a senior lecturer in pharmacy practice at Liverpool John Moores University, talks about the drug and the current knowledge of its potential for misuse.
