Outlook

Available for over a year

Extraordinary personal stories from around the world. Today, Sir Roger Bannister tells Outlook how, in May 1954, he became the first man to run a mile in under four minutes. The record made headlines around the world, but he did it while studying to be a doctor. Sir Roger - who is now 83 - went on to have a long and illustrious career as one of Britain's most eminent neurologists. Then the second report from psychiatrist Dr Lynne Jones - she catches up with two Bosnian Serbs she first met as teenagers right after the war that devastated the country in the 1990s. Both were displaced to Foca at the start of the fighting and they still live there.
