Yemen and New Zealand

From Our Own Correspondent

Available for over a year

Stories from Rupert Wingfield-Hayes in Yemen and Joanna Lester in New Zealand. Presented by Owen Bennett Jones. Towers and myths The Yemeni capital Sana'a has such spectacular and unusual architecture that it should be one of the world’s most visited destinations. But it has next to no tourists, because the politics there are so unstable and sometimes violent. Rupert Wingfield-Hayes reflects on the different ways of looking at Yemen. Rebuilding Christchurch A year ago, 180 people were killed when an earthquake hit New Zealand. Many are of course still missing their loved ones, and the physical damage is also lingering on. The centre of Christchurch is cordoned off, and many people are still not allowed back into their homes. Joanna Lester reports on the long rebuilding efforts.
