Owen Bennett Jones presents inside stories from Tim Whewell in Syria and Joanna Humphries in Tunisia. WAITING FOR CONTACT In Syria, the violence is intensifying with the government and its opponents now fighting prolonged battles. It began nearly a year ago with overwhelmingly peaceful protests. But the government’s intransigence has been met by an increasing willingness of its opponents to use force. So what next? Tim Whewell's just back from Syria where he's been meeting with opposition activists. WAITING FOR CHANGE The Tunisian revolution is generally considered the most complete of all in the various countries affected by the Arab Spring. But even there, some Tunisians are still waiting for real change - unconvinced by what’s happened so far. Joanna Humphries has been getting far away from the capital Tunis to sample opinion.
