Aid to Libya

Business Daily

Available for over a year

What kind of aid should the West give to countries such as Libya? The model for western governments in the second half of the 20th century was the Marshall Plan where the US gave financial help to a Europe ravaged by the second world war. Does this blueprint still work? Lesley Curwen discusses this with Fouad Gehad Marei, a political scientist who was part of the protests anti-Mubarak protests in Egypt and John Hamilton, a director of Cross Border Information and an expert on Libya. And the BBC's Cindy Sui reports from the Taiwanese island of Kinmen on how Chinese tourists are flocking there. Plus, why negative thinking could be the next big thing in business according to Lucy Kellaway of the Financial Times.
