Should internet access be a human right? That is the question posed by the UN's Special Rapporteur for the right to freedom of expression in a new report. Frank La Rue is concerned about regimes that punish bloggers who upset them or lock down their country's networks during protests and uprisings. But should hackers, or those who continue illegally downloading movies and music despite warnings form their ISPs still be entitled to access the information society? Frank La Rue joins Click to discuss these issues. We also hear from Jim Killock from the Open Rights Group. Facebook has come to the rescue of researchers in Guyana conducting a survey of the ecology of one of Guyana's major rivers, and 5,000 fish. That task was on too great a scale for the small team out in that remote region. So, enter a rather novel use of Facebook's photo sharing capabilities. One of the researchers, Devin Bloom a PhD student at the University of Toronto Scarborough, tells Click how it went. Click TV visits the E3 Expo at Los Angeles in the USA. The Electronic Entertainment Expo, known to some as a massive annual games fair, gets underway. Click hears from Spencer Kelly about some of the highlights.
