Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, New York Mosque Leader

The Interview Archive

Available for over a year

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf has led a mosque in New York for 25 years and worked to bring faiths together. But he admits he was scared by the fierce reaction back in August to his plans for an Islamic Centre, two blocks from Ground Zero. Four months on he has drawn lessons from the affair and is ready to launch a new inter-faith initiative. Carrie Gracie asks him whether he can ever really succeed.
