A visit to Mounthill Fair

A Kist o Wurds

Available for over a year

Mounthill Fair is one of the oldest horse fairs in Ulster - and Liam Logan and James Fenton are in Kilwaughter in Sammy Agnew’s house, discussing the show before they head up to visit it for themselves. James is interested in the different varieties of Ulster-Scots spoken in different placess and there are plenty of accents to hear at the Fair. They meet Robert Boyle, an 88 year old horse breeder from Ballycarry; and find out about Welsh ponies from David Johnston. (Broadcast 10th October 2004)
