General David Petraeus

The Interview Archive

Available for over a year

US Army General David Petraeus, who has recently taken command of Nato forces in Afghanistan, talks to John Simpson, the BBC's World Affairs Editor. General Petraeus is currently the top US commander in Afghanistan. Before that he was in charge of all coalition forces in Iraq where he prioritised the winning of hearts and minds. He's widely credited for turning round the situation in Iraq; his political bosses hope he can do the same in Afghanistan. In The Interview, he talks about the surge in Afghanistan, his time in Iraq and whether Nato can defeat the Taliban. (Image: General David Petraeus, Credit: Getty Images)
