Stuart Rutherford is an expert on poverty in Bangladesh. He has spent his life studying the financial practices of the very poorest and for the past 13 years has been offering them financial services. He recently walked across Bangladesh, recording his observations as he went. He has also collated the detailed financial diaries, over several years, of poor Bangladeshi families. Peter Day met him in the Bangladesh countryside.
