A SPECIAL PROGRAMME FROM CAPE TOWN The thousands of broadcasters reporting on the World Cup in South Africa have been joined by a number of school students who are taking part in an innovative scheme called iSchoolAfrica. Gareth Mitchell visits Wynberg High School in the Western Cape to talk to students who are learning how to shoot footage, script, edit and produce short films, some of which will be broadcast on local television. Gareth hears from teachers, educators and IT innovators about the luxury of using this technology in the deprived areas of South Africa. He reports on the mounting excitement of the students as they complete their tasks using the professional software, and how the children from some of the poorer townships are sharing their new knowledge with their computer illiterate parents and grandparents.
