As Zimbabwe celebrates the 30th anniversary of its independence this weekend, Rajan Datar asks whether there are any signs of a relaxation of government control over the media there. He speaks to the founder and manager of a radio station in the UK staffed by exiled Zimbabwean journalists. The BBC's been effectively taken off air on FM in large areas of Somalia by Al-Shabab, an Islamist militia recently proscribed by the British government. We speak to the BBC World Service Head of Africa region, Jerry Timmins and get his reaction to Al-Shabab's claims that the BBC is a mouthpiece for Christian colonial propaganda.
