Girls' football in Bihar An eye hospital in the conservative northern Indian state of Bihar is the unlikely home of a girls' football squad. But as Outlook's Nivedita Pathak reports, they're also getting an education. It's hoped that some of the girls will go on to study optometry, a much-needed skill in an area where thousands suffer from blindness and cataracts. Guantanamo Wives British journalist Victoria Brittain tells Matthew Bannister why she decided to write a play about the effects of the detention of terrorism suspects, on their wives and families. Her play, entitled "Waiting", is based on the testimonies of five women whose husbands have been held without trial. They share with the audience their feelings of confusion and isolation.
