Yemen has hit the headlines because of the news that the Detroit plane-bomber had received training there. The country is plagued with problems: Al-Qaeda activity, and rebels in both the North and South. But in 1994 Yemen was in complete chaos, as civil war tore it apart. Tim Macintosh Smith has been living in Yemen for over 25 years - he tells Witness his story.
