Ten Conditions of Love We explore the ongoing controversy surrounding The Ten Conditions of Love, an Australian documentary that's been screened around Taiwan. The problem, for China, is the film's subject. It's about the exiled Uighur activist Rebiya Kadeer, a woman whom the Chinese authorities accuse of orchestrating July's lethal clashes between Muslim Uighurs and Han-Chinese-settlers in the Xinjiang province of China. Contoverses photographic exhibition An exhibition of photographs called 'contoverses' has begun in Brussels and true to its name, it has caused ripples of confusion and consternation. It looks at the many ways in which photographs can be controversial - war photos, the sexualisation of children, the depiction of misery, even the pressures of the anti-smoking lobby are all dealt with. We speak to the show's curator and hear what visitors to the exhibition thought of it Gunter Grass - The Tin Drum This month's World Book Club guest is German Nobel Laureate Gunter Grass. We explore the themes of his international bestseller The Tin Drum -- and find out why it's one of the most influential, disturbing, and controversial novels of the last half-century Luke Jerram Luke Jerram makes exquisite glass sculptures that depict deadly viruses - from smallpox to swine flu and AIDS - they look beautiful and belie their ghastly consequences on the human body. Harriett Gilbert talk to the artist at an exhibition of his work.
