The Obama administration is still finalizing its policy towards Darfur. But activists fear that president Barack Obama will not be as tough on Sudan as he indicated during his campaign. The conflict in Darfur started in 2003 when a rebellion led to government-backed militias and rebel groups killing hundreds of thousands of civilians and driving millions more from their homes.
