Celebrating women in rock

The Rock Show with Shaun Keaveny

Available for 29 days

Anna Calvi's reputation as a guitar virtuoso is just one of the many reasons we've asked her to choose her own Rock Goddess for our special International Women's Day celebration of all things rock. As an artist, she's an accomplished songwriter, performer, collaborator and singer. Since she came to prominence in the late 00s, she has been nominated three times for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize. Her debut album came out in 2011 and since then she's had a creatively fascinating career. As well as releasing her own music she has written music for the BBC's Peaky Blinders series and collaborated with the likes of Brian Eno, David Byrne and Marianne Faithfull. Her forthcoming release in March is with none other than Iggy Pop. Elsewhere on the show, a celebratory gathering of female-led talent on Shaun's tracklist from right across the genres of rock and beyond. Produced by Listen Entertainment for BBC Radio 2.
