Tom Service with guests, stories and the perfect classical soundtrack for the weekend! An all-star line-up of guests joins us this morning as superstar pianist Vikingur Olafsson pops in to champion the music of the Hungarian composer György Kurtág who turns 100 this month. Vikingur joins Tom at the piano to play some of his music and talk about how getting to know him personally has changed how he hears other music forever. Continuing our focus on Creators and the stories behind their creations: multi award-winning composer Anna Meredith talks to Tom about her track Nautilus that started life with her stomping along a beach in Scotland but became a powerhouse tune that's been arranged and re-arranged countless times for electronics, orchestra, marching band and even featured in a David Beckham documentary. And Radio 3's Kate Molleson pays tribute to the French composer and electronic music pioneer Eliane Radigue who died this week age 94. Radigue's music of ecstatic sonic concentration is an invitation to change our perceptions of what music can do, and what can it make us feel. To listen on most smart speakers just say "Ask BBC Sounds to play Saturday Morning”.
