James perform alongside the BBC Concert Orchestra from BBC Maida Vale studios for Radio 2’s Piano Room Month. Now, having been together for over forty years, James stormed the 1990s with four top ten hits, with anthems like Sit Down and She's A Star. To date, they've released eighteen studio albums, and in April this year begin their biggest ever arena tour, with ten dates across the UK, finishing with a massive homecoming show at Manchester’s Co-Op Live. They also recently revealed that the first authorised documentary about the band, Getting Away With It, will be released later this year. Tim Booth of James says: “Whenever our songs are orchestrated, it deepens the emotional impact. So we are looking forward to another fresh orchestral collaboration in the Piano Room - on my birthday. Expect fireworks and a cake!" Back for its fifth year, Radio 2 Piano Room Month sees globally-famous, award-winning artists perform three tracks - a new song, one of their well-known numbers, and an unexpected cover version - all accompanied by the BBC Concert Orchestra. A BBC Audio production for BBC Radio 2.
