History in Kells and Ballintoy plus a catch-up with The Foreign Landers

Available for 29 days

Helen Mark MBE presents BBC Radio Ulster’s weekly Ulster-Scots magazine this week alongside Rab. Lennox and Willie Hill – and there’s a history theme this week! Helen is in Ballintoy witnessing an archaeology search for evidence which is set to deepen the ancient connections between Scotland and the east coast of Antrim. Willie was in monastery in Kells, Co. Antrim to hear about the formation of the diocese of Connor. Then there’s music and chat from The Foreign Landers – an Armagh / South Carolina duo mashing folk and bluegrass. And what a treat to end – a reading from Helen’s 7 year old grandchild Lily! As always, listeners are invited to contact the programme with a good Ulster-Scots yarn or event to talk about. The easiest way to do that is by email – [email protected]
