Classical music to inspire you

Classical Mixtape

Available for 24 days

Take time out with a 30-minute soundscape of classical music. Dance of the Reed-Pipes from Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker Suite starts tonight's Classical Mixtape, followed by Patrick Hawes' meditative 'Reflexionem', which takes inspiration from the mystery of 'what is true is beautiful and what is beautiful is good'. Florence Price's 'Adoration', Marguerite Monnot's 'Hymne à l’amour' (as popularised by Edith Piaf), and George Fenton's 'Empty Store' from the 90s rom-com 'You've Got Mail' also feature to link in with a loose romance theme. Producer: Joe Blamey. To listen on most smart speakers say, "Ask BBC Sounds to play Classical Mixtape".
