Afternoons

Available for 29 days

This year's new head of programme at Glasgow Film Theatre, Paul Gallagher, gives us his highlights and thoughts about the films in this year's Glasgow Film Festival, and we celebrate independent music venues ahead of the launch of Independent Venue Week, including films from Angelina Jolie and James McAvoy, Welsh and Gaelic language films, world premieres and documentaries. Singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and composer Andrew Wasylyk talks about the collaborations, instrumentation and process behind his new album Irreparable Parables, and we hear his new single from that album, featuring Gruff Rhys, The Cold Collar. Charlotte Montford, cultural programmer, producer and one of the co-directors of Lyth Arts Centre, based in Caithness, in the north Highlands of Scotland, talks about the event Lyth Arts Centre are hosting as part of Independent Venue Week, and she and Andrew Wasylyk make the case for the importance of independent music venues and their place in the community and the Scottish music industry.
