Music, chat and Khruangbin’s Laura Lee

Radcliffe and Maconie

Available for 28 days

Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie present a feast of great music and chat for weekend breakfast. Today Khruangbin’s Laura Lee shares her ‘First, Last and Everything’ tracks and chats about the band’s reimagined version of debut album ‘The Universe Smiles Upon You’, on its 10-year anniversary. Laura Lee Ochoa is the bassist and founding member of Texas musical trio Khruangbin. Khruangbin did not set out to make their latest album - all they knew in the first days of 2025, as they shivered in the Central Texas barn where they’ve recorded almost all of their music, was that the 10th anniversary of their debut, ‘The Universe Smiles Upon You’, was steadily approaching. What if, they had wondered, they went back to the barn where it all began and recut the record that had started it all, on the actual 10th anniversary of those sessions? Also on the show ... long-running feature ‘The Chain’ which gives listeners the chance to pick a track that links in some way to the last. The list now contains over 8700 songs. With a selection of music old and new to get the weekend started. Produced in Salford by Audio Always for BBC Radio 6 Music
