Playing a musical instrument - whether you're professional or amateur - rarely follows a simple trajectory of practice and progress and it makes psychological as much as physical demands that can come to define a person. Today, the Garklein Recorder Ensemble from Yorkshire, which comprises mostly former peripatetic music teachers who in retirement have migrated to recorders, in various shapes and sizes, from other instruments.
