Tom plays classical music to start your weekend. Today Tom speaks to superstar tenor Allan Clayton about his new recording of Franz Schubert’s Winterreise with the Aurora Orchestra. And cellist Adrian Brendel welcomes Tom in to the home of his father, the legendary pianist Alfred Brendel, who passed away in June 2025. Adrian talks about his fond memories of playing music with his father as well as an upcoming Alfred Brendel memorial concert taking place at London's Barbican featuring Sir Simon Rattle, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Lisa Batiashvili and Dame Imogen Cooper. We also hear from leading composers and musicians about their musical new year resolutions for 2026, including Amy Harman, Judith Weir, Jennifer Higdon and Anna Meredith.
