Acclaimed folk band The Fureys - known for 'When you were Sweet Sixteen', 'Red Rose Café', and 'The Green Fields of France' - are calling time on their 50 year career. Born and raised in Ballyfermot, Dublin, and known throughout the world the group are playing a mammoth 105 date farewell tour including gigs in Derry and Belfast in the New Year. George Furey joins Anna to talk about his band of brothers, the highs and lows of life on the road and how he feels about taking his final bow. The Fureys have been the soundtrack to many of their fans lives and a man who knows a thing or two about soundtracks is Emmy award winning composer John Lunn. He created the theme tune to ‘Downton Abbey’ and scored the music for the series & films. He's also written music for Grantchester, Jamestown, Shetland, The Last Kingdom. Poet Hollie McNish is a Sunday Times best seller with hundreds of thousands of online fans. She joins Anna ahead of her gig in Belfast's Mandela Hall. The city has a special place in her heart - not least because her granny says it was the Patrick Swayze style dance moves soldiers here taught her grandfather during the war that won her affections! We are also talking panto (Oh yes we are!) with Paddy Jenkins, the Oscar winning actor and star of "Blue Lights" and that famous Ballymena shopping centre tv ad! And there will be more than a few tracks from the Sunday Songbook Selection Box!
