The annual Christmas around Europe day Part 2 continues the nine-hour celebration in a feast of concerts which take us across European destinations including Finland, Germany, Latvia and concluding with the BBC Singers in London. Every year classical music radio stations from across Europe come together to celebrate Christmas with a series of concerts from around the continent. Featuring special performances of Christmas music, the celebration covers a wide variety of music. This nine-hour celebration promises to be a journey of discovery to delight the ears and inspire the soul. Presented by Andrew McGregor 1600 Hanover, Germany. The Hanover Girls' Choir, and the NDR Radio Philharmonic presents Christmas Carols from across the continent. Presented by Hannah French. 1700 Helsinki, Finland. Ensemble Gamut perform Finnish folk music. 1800 Munich, Germany. Benjamin Appl sings Christmas classics with the Regensburg Cathedral Choir and the Munich Radio Orchestra. 1900 Berlin, Germany. The RIAS Chamber Choir sing Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, plus other music by Britten and Poulenc. 2000 Riga, Latvia. The Sola Choir with Christmas music by Praetorius, Mozart and Ravel, plus a new work by Erik Esenvalds. 2100 London, United Kingdom. The BBC Singers are conducted by Sofi Jeannin in an exploration of the O Antiphons - the seven short verses traditionally performed in the final week of Advent - each text begins with 'O'. Including new commissions from composers Kornelia Nemcova and Millicent B James.
