Beverly Glenn-Copeland & Elizabeth Copeland: The musical ups and downs of our lives

Journeys In Sound

Available for 5 days

Beverly Glenn-Copeland & Elizabeth Copeland share the music that has sound-tracked their life with Nemone. Glenn is a legendary singer, composer and transgender activist whose creative output has spanned over 50 years. Together with his wife Elizabeth Copeland, his latest album Laughter In Summer celebrates their passions and love for each other. Talking to Nemone, who combines her roles of DJ and qualified psychotherapist, Glenn and Elizabeth dive deep to share their story and the songs that guide and move them. In this deeply personal episode, the couple talk about their artistic relationship, the importance of their educational work and community, and living with Glenn’s dementia. They share the difficulties the condition presents to their everyday life, and how a recent tour of Laughter In Summer revitalised them personally and creatively. In this series, Nemone also talks in depth to musicians Sampa The Great, Bob Mould and HAAi. If you need support with some of the issues in this programme visit bbc.co.uk/actionline.
