Celebrating 40 years since Live Aid, the greatest day in pop music history, when the world’s biggest names in music came together to help raise money for the famine in Ethiopia. Grant plays 7", 12 singles and vinyl LPs by the artists who performed in London and Philadelphia on 13th July 1985, to a worldwide television audience of 1.9 billion people. He shares his own stories of the day and how he ended up being in the crowd at Wembley Stadium. On side 1 it's the Wembley line-up including: Status Quo, Ultravox, Sade, David Bowie, Elton John and Paul McCartney. Plus archive soundbites from Midge Ure and Bob Geldof. On side 2 Grant focuses on the acts at JFK Stadium: Mick Jagger, The Beach Boys, Madonna, the Four Tops and Simple Minds with Jim Kerr sharing his memories of the day. Plus the artist who played in both venues on the same day.
