More than twenty-five thousand people from around the world invested their money in Dolphin Trust, a company that promised lucrative returns on its development of derelict listed buildings in Germany. The firm collapsed in 2020 with losses of more than £1 billion, leading thousands of people from the UK to lose their savings and pensions.
