Jamie MacDougall presents a special edition, featuring music inspired by the seasons and the great outdoors, including Vivaldi’s baroque masterpiece The Four Seasons. We’ll hear Vivaldi’s music performed by a variety of artists, including Scottish Ensemble and Nicola Benedetti, together with new pieces re-composed and inspired by Vivaldi from Max Richter and Anna Meredith. Alongside Vivaldi, we have music taking in mountain views (An Alpine Symphony by Strauss performed by the Royal Scottish National Orchestra) and storms at sea (The Tempest by Tchaikovsky with BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra) plus the Scottish Chamber Orchestra perform Schumann’s Symphony No. 1, Spring.
