Tim Booth, lead singer of James

Tracks Of My Years

Available for 3 days

Before his band James perform in the Radio 2 Piano Room this month, here's another chance to hear frontman Tim Booth choosing his Tracks of My Years - first broadcast in June 2024. Tim is probably best known as the lead singer of the Manchester band James, who gave us anthems like “Sit Down” and “She’s A Star”. James recently celebrated 40 years together, and it all started when Tim met his future bandmates in the student union cellar bar at Manchester University. They stormed the 1990s with four top ten hits and reunited in 2007 landing five top ten albums. In 2024, they beat Beyonce to the number one album slot in the charts with their 18th studio album “Yummy” and then embarked on a huge UK arena tour, culminating at London’s 02 - the first time the band had played that 20,000 capacity venue. Away from the band, Tim has also worked as an actor in “Batman Begins” and has just released his debut novel, called “When I Died For The First Time”. A BBC Audio production for BBC Radio 2.
