The cost of funerals increased by almost 5 percent in 2023 to an average of £10,000, according to a research by financial services company Sunlife. The report also found that 20 percent of people say they experience notable financial concerns when paying for a funeral. We hear how, in some extreme cases, they're turning to loan sharks to help cover the costs. Last week we told you of what we think is a new kind of fraud where we we think criminals are setting up fake hire car companies, so they can forward the fines they get on to other innocent people. This week our Investigative Reporter Shari Vahl is back with more listeners who are being chased for fines they couldn't possibly have created. According to market researcher Kantar, 9 in 10 people have at least one shopping loyalty card. Last year Sainsburys, added 3 million new Nectar card customers, making their total 18 million members.
