Was there ever an ancient Irish race?

The Long and the Short of It

Available for over a year

Tim McGarry, a six foot four comedian, joins vertically challenged Orangeman and historian, Dr David Hume, to look at a number of fascinating historical incidents and people in Irish history. The unlikely duo investigates well known historical events from different perspectives, to give the listener the long and the short of it. In this first episode in the eighth series, they examine the evidence of the ancient people of Ireland and how they lived, and consider whether there was ever a truly Irish race. They visit Navan Fort to see how the Celts lived, as well as debating the evidence of such a race with archaeological genetics experts Dr Lara Cassidy and Dr Daniel Bradley, and historian Dr Aidan Beatty.
