Gap Finders: Tom Raviv from Milliways

You and Yours

Available for over a year

Milliways began the moment Tom Raviv discovered that the gum he was chewing was made of plastic. A reported 374 billion pieces of gum get chewed globally every year, the majority of which contains plastic and ends up on the pavement or in landfill - a statistic Tom is on a mission to change. Since 2019, he's been refining a recipe using only natural ingredients to produce a chewing gum that is plant-based, plastic-free and completely biodegradable. In today’s episode of Gap Finders, Winifred finds out how Milliways went from being sold in modest quantities online to stocked in 6000 stores in the UK - all in just over two years. Tom tells us how he plans to transform the market and continue to take on the major chewing gum brands in a battle he describes as being ‘a bit like David and Goliath!’.
