Benjamin Myers

Open Book

Available for over a year

Johny Pitts talks to Benjamin Myers about his novel The Perfect Golden Circle. In his novels, poetry and short stories, Benjamin Myers has long focussed on landscape and the mystical power of place. His previous award-winning novels include The Gallows Pole, Beatings and Pig Iron. Now comes The Perfect Golden Circle or The Strange Rites of an English Summer which explores the healing power of nature in a very different way. We hear from Lulah Ellender, whose book Grounding: Finding Home in a Garden is about creating a thriving green space in a plot which might soon be lost. Writers Charlie Porter and Charlotte Moore join Johny to discuss the rich history of garden writing and the importance of green and verdant spaces in precarious times.
